Our CAWI/CATI system integrates with YTAB reporting and can be used for a wide range of outputs, including PDF versions of the original blank form, dynamically generated PDFs and aggregated summary reports.

SDA/GIDE develop and maintain Ytab. This is a language, with graphic facilities, for processing tables from tabulation packages or SQL queries.

YTAB (PDF)

SDA/GIDE develop and maintain YTAB. This is a high-level programming language used to implement reporting systems.

YTAB is capable of importing data in a variety of formats, including outputs from tabulation packages, SQL queries, ASCII text and Excel, performing complex statistical and formatting operations, and then producing reports in Postscript/PDF, HTML or Excel.

The CAWI system uses YTAB to automate the production of PDF. It has been designed to produce PDF reports very quickly, which enables PDF to be produced and delivered to users over the Internet within seconds.

A YTAB-based reporting system was used by Ofsted for many years to produce PANDA reports for schools. Each year some 18,000 individual Primary school PANDA and some 3,500 Secondary School PANDA were produced for both non-validated and validated data and made available electronically to schools from a secure web site hosted by SDA/GIDE.

PDF reports can have bookmarks and internal links to allow easy navigation within the report. PDF reports can include text, graphics, and charts and incorporate black and white or colour.

YTAB is constantly evolving to meet the needs of customers. As an in-house product, we have complete control over its development and are not reliant on a third-party supplier.

Reporting system

We have provided Ofsted with a system since 1997 enabling them to produce individual PANDA reports for over 18,000 primary schools and some 3,500 Secondary schools.

Automatic production of multilingual reports

Tabulation

Our tabulation software fully integrates with our CAWI/CATI solution and allows millions of records to be tabulated in seconds.

The tabulation output is in XML, and is then displayed in any of the formats supported by YTAB - PDF, HTML, PDF and Excel. Outputs can include statistics and graphics.
